Warning Signs for Diabetes

December 15th, 2009No Comments

There are three major warning signs for diabetes and these are something which you should not ignore.  This is because diabetes is now the fifth leading cause of deaths in the US today.  75,000 people died each year from diabetes.  There are twenty four million people suffering with diabetes in the US alone and this is just 10% of their population.  Diabetes is one of the deadly illnesses in these modern times and is also the fastest growing of all deadly illnesses.  This rate is larger than what is predicted by the WHO or World Health Organization.  There are dangers in the lives of diabetic patients; there is going to be death of the beta cells of the pancreas affecting the other organs of the body.  The failing of the pancreas’ function is what’s making the blood sugar high.

There are three major warning signs for this disease and one must listen to what his body is saying for it can greatly save his life.  The first warning sign involves thirst.  Person with high blood sugar may feel constant thirsting.  Because the body is trying to filter the excess sugar in the blood by passing it in the water through the kidney, the sugar is then pushed out of the body causing frequent urination leaving the patient thirsty.  Since there is an imbalance, there will be dehydration as the body is trying to throw out the sugar.

The next warning sign is hunger.  It usually stems from the person’s inability to utilize well the sugar as an energy source within the cells.  Sugar is circulating with the blood but cells cannot absorb it to be used as fuel.  This is what makes diabetes hungry again after a meal.

Another warning sign for diabetes is frequent urinating.  To be able to get rid of the sugar, the kidneys pass urine out.  The patient’s body continuously dumps the sugar out the body causing the patient to urinate more often than normal.
